A note from Jordan Kaufman (founder of BEATS):
The idea for BEATS grew from a seed planted many years ago while finishing my degree in social work. During that time, I noticed a disconnect between what people needed and what traditional mental health systems often offered. People weren’t just looking for therapy—they were longing for spaces where they could feel safe, connected, and seen as whole individuals.
Later on, I began teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness and witnessed the power of embodied practice when respected and integrated with developmental, neurobiological, and theoretical knowledge. In my pursuit of professional integrity, and desire to help people in real and tangible ways, I studied, practiced, and built a clinical foundation using creative and play-based therapeutic practices. Experience showed me that healing isn’t one-dimensional—it happens when we care for the mind, body, and spirit together; It happens when we find our way back to Self. Healing is not about "fixing"; it is about reclaiming. It is not a destination to arrive at, but a practice to engage in. Healing honors growth, grief, grace ,and all of the spaces in-between.
Traditional therapy often focuses on words, but some feelings live beyond language. Through yoga and expressive arts, I witnessed how art, drama, music, movement, dance, and play create pathways to healing that talking alone can’t always reach. I wanted to bring these elements together in an intentional, supportive community—a place where people feel seen, connected, and empowered.
BEATS is that vision: a space where care and creativity flow together, blending therapy with authentic human connection, reminding us that we are never separate from belonging.
BEATS is in-network with several major health insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, United Healthcare, and Aetna. For more information, see Insurance and Fees by clicking the button below, or email info@beatsllc.org.
